A MOTHERS SUPPORT

July 20, 2017

We all face different challenges throughout our life. One challenge I faced growing up was math and English. It was a real struggle for me to get good grades in these two subjects, even as hard as I tried. Heck, just writing this makes me nervous because I am afraid I'm going to mess up. I might spell something wrong or not write a complete sentence. It has taken a lot of work to overcome this challenge and others throughout my life, but let me tell you one thing: My mom has been one of my greatest supporters. I remember the talks we would have, and she would always find a way to lift me up and tell me that I could do anything that I set my mind to, and I took that to heart. That's why I love to draw and be creative is because of my mother.

Now I think one of my mom's recent challenges was sitting down and drawing with me. She was excited but she had that nervous laugh as we both drew this drawing together. I told her that I was here to help out, so she did not have to worry. I reassured her that it was going to be the best drawing in the world. To me, this was true, and I knew I was going to cherish this drawing forever!

I am excited to share this finished work of art that I did with my mom. I love you, Mom, and thank you for drawing with me.

The pencil drawing is a collaboration of my mom and me.
