It's crazy how time flies by so quickly before you see some of your friends that you grew up with a long time ago. I had the opportunity to visit with Bill and Stephanie. Bill was a year older than me in high school and Stephanie was in the same grade as me. During those years, Bill and I hung out a lot at the dance hall that my parents ran back in the 80's. I remember working there as a DJ and playing vinyl records and VHS tapes of the new music videos that came out. I loved all types of genres and I still do today. I was even obsessed with watching those videos over and over again to learn all the new dance moves. Those where some good times, and I think I still have a few dance moves up my sleeve, although my kids and wife get embarrassed when I break out in dance.
I know Stephanie had been following my social media and was interested in the Artist in You and Me project. I was excited to meet up with the two of them and see what type of masterpiece we could draw together. It was also a lot of fun to catch up with the both of them and to find out more about them and their family. Even though it's been a long time since we saw each other, I know Bill was the one about whom my dad thought as another member of my family. Bill was a good friend and a good example to me. He always kept me in line. Or was it the other way around? I guess it all depends on whom you ask.
Now, Bill and Stephanie certainly added some excitement to this drawing. It seems like so many things are going on, and it's non-stop action! You have volcanoes erupting, a car going over a cliff, and someone parachuting from the sky, along with music notes in motion and a boy blowing bubblegum. How fun! I enjoyed my time drawing with the two of them, and they both have a great imagination. Thank you for drawing with me, Bill and Stephanie.
The pencil drawing is the result of the collaboration between Bill, Stephanie, and me.
Photo of us? Yes, I forgot to take a picture of the three of us with the final drawing. I'll make sure I get a photo the next time I see Bill and Stephanie.
