I love being with family during the holidays, and my wife surprised me when some of our family members showed up to celebrate with us on Thanksgiving day in 2017. On that day, I had the chance to sit down and draw with my wife's sister Kam, and her son, Xaris. I was excited to draw with these two because I don't see them much due to the distance between our homes. Now, usually when I draw with others, they get all nervous about drawing with me. It wasn't the case with Kam and Xaris. They jumped right in, and sometimes they had to make sure I didn't skip their turn.
When we started this drawing, I noticed the outdoor images pouring out onto the paper. I know Kam has always loved taking Xaris to the beach as well as fishing, camping, and skiing, and this drawing certainly emulates their love for the great outdoors.
Over the years, I have been amazed by my sister-in-law and all the hard work she has done, raising her son. I know Xaris has a mom who loves him from infinity and back, and because of her hard work and love, I believe Xaris will do great things throughout his life. Thank you, Kam and Xaris, for drawing with me and spending Thanksgiving day with family that loves you.
The pencil drawing is the result of the collaboration between Kam, Xaris, and me.
